Within Dance students will gain a better understanding of a number of styles of dance and develop confidence in the use of physical and interpretive skills, stage presence and performance skills. Students will learn in an environment that is encouraging and respectful as each participant learns about his /her individual strengths and how to grow areas of weakness.
By participating in a variety of styles of dance we aim to give each and every student a positive and enjoyable experience in Dance.
Extra-Curricular Clubs within dance are a fantastic way for students to try new styles, develop choreographer expertise and leadership skills. The programme will change each half term and will be advertised in lessons, form time and around the school. Clubs will be active at lunchtime and afterschool; students will be inducted in their first Dance lesson with what is on offer for this half term. Parental consent will be required for any trips or showcase performances; your son/daughter will be notified. Being part of a club develops positive relationships with peers in addition to valuable skill development in: leadership, teamwork and communication.
